Studies of Ukiyo-E

A series of artwork exploring the visual language of traditional Ukiyo-E through pornographic depictions of mortality. They mainly follow the theme of Kusozu; artistic depictions of the decay a body goes through post-mortem. This is combined with shibari, Japanese bondage, as an commentary on the principles of Buddhist monks and their objectification of women as a means to prevent their own worldly desires.
